I grew up opposite the beach in the quiet town of Paekakariki, on the outskirts of Wellington, New Zealand. At any given opportunity I would choose to spend my time outside and my childhood memories revolve around the sun, sand and sea. My love of New Zealand's rich diverse landscapes and flora and fauna is reflected in much of the work I produce.
I completed my Bachelor of Design with first class Honours at Massey University College of Creative Arts in 2016, majoring in Textile Design. For me, design is as much about the process and development as it is about the final product. I believe the most exciting part of being a designer is the twists and turns you work through between start to finish.
Travel and being immersed within different cultures acts as a stimulus for my creativity. I am excited by traditional textile techniques from around the globe, and continue to trial many within my work. I work in a loose painterly style and enjoy portraying this hand crafted aesthetic in my designs. I am currently living and working in Berlin, Germany.
